“Empowering Expertise”<\/h4>

The OST School of Management stands for practical transfer and proximity. It develops solutions for business and society in Eastern Switzerland and beyond. With practical education and training and application-oriented research, we create prospects for students, companies and private and public institutions in our region. Our motto, \u2018Empowering Expertise, shows what we focus on: transfer orientation, quality and impact. The School of Management is one of a total of six departments at OST Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences.<\/p>

In a total of five bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes and numerous continuing education courses, students acquire application-oriented skills that they can directly transfer into business practice during their studies.<\/p>

In applied research and consulting, the OST School of Management makes targeted use of its science-based and implementation-oriented skills to transfer scientific knowledge into practice, shape digital change in organisations in a sustainable manner and raise awareness of social responsibility. In doing so, it specifically networks the skills of various disciplines at OST, thereby promoting interdisciplinary innovation.<\/p>

Since 2024, the OST School of Management has held the seal of approval of the AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Achieving this prestigious institutional accreditation is a source of pride for those responsible and spurs them on to remain true to their high quality standards.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Degree programs<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the School of Management, students choose one of three bachelor’s degree programmes: \u2018BSc Business Administration\u2019, \u2018BSc Management and Law\u2019 and \u2018BSc Business Informatics\u2019. Each of the three programmes offers specialisations that enable students to set the course for their personal future. Our degree programmes are based on a system-oriented approach, which we use to promote networked thinking and thus prepare students for promising career fields. Unique to OST are the student consulting projects, in which students develop solutions to challenges posed by clients from the business world. In the consulting projects, they work at the regional, national or international level.<\/p>

In our two master’s programmes, \u2018MSc Business Administration\u2019 and \u2018MSc Business Informatics\u2019, our students expand and deepen their personal skills and qualify for demanding positions as specialists and managers in a wide range of industries. Both master’s programmes are designed for bachelor’s graduates from various disciplines.<\/p>

Volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity: the challenges of the \u2018VUCA\u2019 world present every professional with new personal challenges throughout their career. With our wide range of continuing education programmes, we offer a platform from which you can select tailor-made courses to acquire and deepen (new) skills and turn your professional challenges into personal opportunities.<\/p>

Our teaching staff combine many years of practical experience with the latest scientific findings and design individual teaching content to high standards. In the degree programmes and modules, participants learn from real-life case studies, which are always up-to-date and relevant thanks to the close cooperation between the university and industry.<\/p>

Based in Eastern Switzerland, the OST School of Management specifically promotes networking between science and business practice, thereby strengthening the economy in Eastern Switzerland and beyond. The consequences of new technologies, changing customer behavior and increasing regulation are placing heavy demands on companies of all sizes and in all industries. How can resources and value creation processes be successfully aligned and business models further developed under these conditions? True to our motto \u2018Empowering Expertise, we support companies in finding innovative answers to these questions with the help of solution-oriented methodological and technical expertise and a holistic view.<\/p>

The School of Management covers a wide range of topics in applied research. It addresses current practical issues and provides concrete solutions. With our research, which is funded by national and international institutions, we aim to provide forward-looking impetus for business and industry. The most important sources of funding are Innosuisse, IHB, the Swiss National Science Foundation, EU research institutions, foundations and industry partners. Our research activities currently focus on the areas of corporate\/business development, digitalization and sustainable management.<\/p>
